Oyo State APC Governorship Candidate, Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, PhD, has continued his engagement with traditional institutions and communities across the state, stressing the importance of culture, unity and respect for royal fathers.
Senator Alli yesterday paid a courtesy visit to His Royal Highness, Oba Abimbola Ajibola, at his residence to celebrate with the monarch on the occasion of his birthday.
The visit provided an opportunity for the former Oyo State Senate Leader to honour the traditional ruler and acknowledge the important place of royal fathers in preserving the cultural heritage and unity of their communities.
Alli’s gesture was also a demonstration of respect and appreciation for the traditional institution, which remains an important part of community leadership and cultural preservation across Oyo State.
After the birthday visit, the APC governorship candidate proceeded to Iseyin, where he joined traditional rulers, community leaders, dignitaries and residents at the Ekunle Day 2026 celebration.
The colourful gathering offered residents an opportunity to celebrate their heritage and reaffirm the cultural values that have continued to bind generations together.
For Senator Alli, participation in the celebration also provided another opportunity to connect with the people, interact with community stakeholders and celebrate the rich traditions of Oyo State.
His activities during the day reflected a combination of respect for traditional leadership, cultural appreciation and grassroots engagement as political activities ahead of the 2027 governorship election continue to gather momentum in the state.
