Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli’s journey through law, public service and Oyo State politics is heading to the cinema, with a new biographical film on the Oyo South Senator scheduled to premiere in Ibadan on October 1, 2026.
Titled Sen. Sarafa Alli – The Movie, the production by Ultimate Communications will make its public debut at Viva Cinema, Palms Mall, Ring Road, Ibadan, on Nigeria’s Independence Day.
Rather than concentrating solely on Alli’s present role as a member of the National Assembly, the movie is expected to explore several chapters of his life and political career, including his background in law, his years in public service and his time as Chief of Staff in Oyo State.
That broader approach puts the film beyond a simple account of a serving senator’s activities. It seeks to trace some of the experiences and political milestones that shaped Alli’s emergence as one of the notable figures in Oyo politics.
Veteran filmmaker Seun Oloketuyi is producing the project, while Tunde Olaoye is directing the movie.
The cast includes Taiwo Ibikunle, Dele Odule, Adetutu Adesoji and Aishat Isiaka, alongside other actors.
Oloketuyi said the production was conceived as an effort to document Alli’s political journey and offer audiences a closer look at the experiences behind his public career.
For a politician whose career has spanned different phases of Oyo State public life, the decision to tell the story through film also gives the project a different platform from the conventional political biography or documentary.
The October 1 premiere is expected to bring together political figures, traditional rulers, members of the business community, entertainment practitioners, media professionals, friends and associates of the senator.
For Ibadan’s growing entertainment and event scene, the choice of Independence Day for the premiere adds another dimension to an event built around the public life of a politician whose career has largely unfolded within the state.
Guests are expected to begin arriving for the red-carpet session from 6:00 p.m., with the screening scheduled for 8:00 p.m.
The production comes at a time when biographical films are increasingly being used to preserve the stories of public figures, turning aspects of their personal and professional journeys into material for a wider audience.
For Senator Alli, the big-screen treatment will provide an opportunity for audiences to encounter a cinematic version of his journey — from his legal background and public service to the political experiences that eventually took him to the Senate.
